The comparison
Bagutta Milano: a shirt maker that gets overlooked for no good reason. They have been making shirts for men and women since the 70s, and feature everything that makes a good shirt. Construction details like the rotated shoulder, a laterally sewn bottom button hole, thick mother of pearl buttons, and a stitch density that is on par with the best brands that charge 3x or more for their shirts.
Boglioli: The Italian lifestyle brand built its reputation on soft tailoring. In 2013, Wise Sgr fund took a 70% stake in Boglioli, and later, the brand was also acquired by PHI Industrial Acquisitions. The founders moved on and started the brand The Gigi.
Canali: A pillar of the Italian menswear landscape. Still family-owned and operated, Canali is arguably best known for its suits. It offers a “total look” that includes casual wear, small leather goods, accessories, and shoes.
