The comparison
I reviewed more than 30 shirts over the past three months to show you that brand reputation and, more importantly, brand perception do NOT always represent the actual product quality.
The criteria were chosen to be as objective as possible, and to reflect that even the smallest details can make a dent. In order to make this comparison fair, fabrics were excluded from the scorecard, and the focus was solely on garment construction. How high is the stitch density ? Are customers getting rush job double needle chain stitching or a neat single needle seam ? Custom trims may seem small, but they are a luxury add-on that represents a cost center. Handwork is being rewarded with extra points to separate the good from the exceptional. This also means that any shirt with extensive handwork would still score well if it were entirely machine-made.
